Two Month Well Check

Today Noah had his two month well check. It is always so fun to see how your child is growing but at the same time you know shots are coming! Noah did great considering we were taken 30 minutes late. He was tired from the 35 minute drive and then the wait so I was a bit nervous about how things would go. Noah weighed in at 12.4 pounds. he gained exactly 2 pounds since his last visit. He was at the 89% for height 59% for weight and 39% for head........I guess we have a long baby with a small head, hahahaha. Of course he received two shots in addition to an oral vacc. We discussed his acid med which he will stay on and just increase the dose a bit. We also talked about the fact that he had not pooped in 9 days! The doc was not real concerned. he said in breastfeed babies they can absorb everything so there is truly no waste. He did end up going later so I was happy.

After the doctors we headed to see Lillie at summer camp. This weeks theme was drama week so they put on a little production for us. It was about a little old 99 year old lasy played by a man which was very funny. Lillie played her sister. Lillie was the co-star. It was great to see Lillie in such a large part considering she is usually very shy or not wanting to be involved at all. I was so excited to see her shine! She enjoyed her week of camp. She also has an awesome tan from going to the pool three times this week! She will go back one week in August.

I am feeling much better. I am on the antibiotics and my fever is gone. I have been able to continue nursing and Noah has accepted my milk again. I was happy that I did not need to supplement and we were able to make it through. I am still not sure how well the breastfeeding is going though. His weight is good so I guess we will go another day and see how long that takes us. With one breast doing most of the work I keep worrying about my supply being depleted but as of now things are doing well.

Mom is down for the count.

Lillie is enjoying camp this week. I thought she would have some fun days while I enjoyed some time with Noah and a few naps. Things certainly have not gone according to plan. On Monday I decided to clean Pandi's (Lillie's hampser) cage. Now I have done this several times but this time I was in a hurry so I took a few short cuts. To say the least I ended up getting bit. The tooth actually went completely through my finger and came out the other side. Pandi was then stuck and I had to pull her off of me and get the tooth out of my flesh. I was bleeding all over. I finally managed to get it to stop. Later that night I took a shower. I was shaving and saw blood. I thought I cut myself but here the wound had opened back up. I was bleeding all over myself and the shower and it would not stop. My finger was swollen and hot besides very sore. Dave had to get the first aid kit and bandage me all up.

The next day I began to feel really achy and tired. I started to feel like I had the flu. It turned out I had a fever of 102 and I never get fevers! Before I knew it my breast felt like it was on fire and was sore to the touch as if I had the worst sunburn imaginable. Today things continued to get worse so I finally spoke to the doctor and they said I had a breast infection. I now must take antibiotics 4x a day for the next 7 days. Tonight Noah would not feed and he kept crying. It is not easy to care for a little one with a fever and when in the past nursing has always been what soothed and now it is being rejected. Then to top things off of all days Dave had a 3 hour meeting at work so he was home super late leaving us to eat dinner at 7:30 compared to our normal 4:30. Dave finally got Noah down for bed and he has not nursed in hours. I tried pumping but nothing comes out and it hurts. I am hoping when Noah wakes he will not reject feeding and all will work out. I never had this with Lillie. My bras are all very tight and I think that was the problem. I bought nursing bras in October but it turned out they are way to big and now the store won't take them back. I can't buy more right now and was trying to make it work. To top everything off today I went to the dentist and I have a cavity. I have not had one of those in over 10 years!

Lillie has been enjoying summer camp. She gets to go swimming and play outside with the kids. I try and set play dates up and such but with no kids in the neighborhood its tough to really give her as much time with kids as she needs. She was so excited to see her friends and she is loving swimming.

Two Months Old!!!

I can hardly beleive Noah is two months old today. The time has gone so fast. He goes for his well check Friday. I am anxious to see just how much he has grown. Lillie is enjoying summer camp this week. She is so happy to see her friends, go swimming and just have lots of play time! She is adjusting better with each day but still struggling more than we had expected. I will miss her this week but am glad to have some time just with Noah as well.

Pop-Pop and Ms.Dottie

It was nice having Pop-Pop and Ms. Dottie over the other day. This was the first time they held Noah. My dad said he was afraid he would get pee on himself. This is a picture I will always treasure as I don't have many opportunities like this.

Happy 38th Birthday!

Dave's birthday starting with work at 3 AM but he was home for lunch which was a nice treat. We left for miniature golf when it started to rain so we turned around. The rain stopped so we headed back again. The rain stayed away making it a great day to golf. It was a unlimited course so we were able to go through the course numerous times. It did get pretty hot by the third round. Dave and Lillie golfed while Noah napped in the Snugglie and I kept score. Dave made his homemade mussels and sausage over pasta meal and after we had the cake we made yesterday. Dave was very pleased with how it all turned out.

Lillie had a great time at the movies yesterday with Pop-Pop and Ms. Dottie. She enjoyed going out with them and riding in their car. She also enjoyed eating all the candy and popcorn her heart desired since we usually cut her off pretty fast.

Despite not traveling or vacationing this summer we have been enjoying the simple excursions and watching Lillie and Noah grow before our eyes. It is amazing how one morning you can wake up and see such growth in your child, new ideas or perspectives that before could not be thought out or comprehended. It is scary but wonderful.

Fun Days

It was a busy few days. Lillie had summer camp at the Movie Church Wed-Fri. She enjoyed going with her BF Kailtyn and having them pick her up and drop her off. I was not impressed with the camp as they did not teach about God. Lillie also did not want to play the water games leaving her not involved in much of the prgram but she said she still enjoyed it.
Friday after camp Kailyn slept over. The girls slept outside in the tent. They enjoyed a movie, popcorn and shadow puppets in the tent. They stayed up till about 1230! Dave had work the next day and I had to care for Noah so they stayed in the tent alone! Such Big girls!
Saturday evening we all went to Sacred Heart fair right here in town. The girls went on some rides, played some games and had some treats. Noah enjoy being in the snuggli and seeing all the lights and people. It was sooooo hot though.
Sunday we enjoyed the morning at church and then Lilie went to Ms. Marys house for her annual Sunday Sundae event. The church kids go to her house for lunch, games and they finish by building their own sundae!. While Lillie was there Dave, Noah and I went to Valley Forge Park for a Chinese take-out picnic. It was nice to introduce Noah to the place he was named after. It was a nice relaxing afternoon for us.
Today Lillie is going to see Toy Story 3 with my dad and his wife. She is so excited. This is the first time she has gone anywhere with my dad so its a very special event!
Tomorrow is Dave's 38th birthday! He has to work but after we will celebrate by having a special dinner that Dave wants to make himself, then a german choc cake that Lillie and I will make, and then we may go play miniature golf. Dave never wants gifts for his birthday just time with his family.

Daddy gets a turn!

When Breast Feeding everyone does not always get a chance to participate. It can also be tough for mom to get out of the house apart from baby. I have ben trying to pump some milk so Lillie and I can have a girls night out soon. Dave wanted to have a turn feeding Noah so he took the opportunity. Noah did well taking milk from a bottle and Dave really enjoyed being able to share in that with him. Lillie was right there to assist in case dave was not up to speed on things!

New Friends

We had our great friends over for the afternoon. Noah had a chance to make his first friend. Meet Natalia! She is six months old. They seemed to enjoy laying and sitting together for the pictures. It is always fun to see little people interact with one another when they are still discovering so much.
It was great to have our friends over. Lillie was able to play with Colton who is seven years old. They played outside on the swingset and did some role play with Phineas and Ferb.
Laura and I enjoyed time to catch up on things with one another. So much has happened in both of our lives in a short time and it is so nice to have a friend to share that with. Thank you Laura. Luv Ya!

First Smiles

Aahhh! We all wait for thos emagical first smiles.....the ones that are not so called "gas". We have been receiving them. Noah loves to smile and does it often. It reassures me that he is happy and content and that makes me feel great. Noah was asleep the other morning and I heard a big chuckle. He was sound asleep but laughing out loud. he does not know he can do this yet while awake. It was so funny to watch.

I am getting big!

Happy 4th of July

Well we were not sure this year if we would see fireworks or not. We were told they are not good for little ones. Lillie was crushed at the thought of not being able to see any. We decided to go see them but stay a safe distance away. It worked out well since Lillie could see them live and Noah was not scared by all the noise since it was a safe distance away. We enjoyed sharing the holiday with Dave since he had the day off. Dave and Lillie camped out in our tent to end the holiday.

Noah is on his second acid reflux medication. The first was not doing the job. We are hoping this one helps him. He cries alot when he is not nursing, sleeping or being held and it has been a bit tiring for us at times. It is bad in the car because he will cry the entire time even on long drives. I am at the point where I do not want to drive anywhere if I can help it. I am hoping it gets better as this too shall pass!

Lillie has been adjusting a bit better. We have been setting up lots for her to do. She went to a swim party yesterday and today is baking with a friend. It is good for her to get out and do some things independant of Noah. She also needs more stimulation that I can provide right now with all the nursing. The last week of the month she is going to summer day camp at her school. It will be all day and she can't wait to see some of her friends she has already been missing.
